BOGAN WARLOCK - NOISE CURSES FOR A BETTER WORLD

BOGAN WARLOCK

bogan: unsophisticated, Australian, unrespected, unfashionable, the opposite of elite, socio-politically impoverished

warlock: one who casts spells, esp. black magick

south gippsland's BOGAN WARLOCK uses repetitive noise pulses (a KAOSS PAD plugged into a HEAVY METAL guitar pedal, in a fedback closed circuit) to generate a vibrationally-dense environment, the energy of which he harnesses to launch CURSES to TEAR DOWN POWER STRUCTURES and OBLITERATE OUR ENEMIES.

the first E.P. [CURSES I] fired its dark magick missiles at NATIONALISM, AVOIDANCE, and ELITIST DYNASTIES, as well as offering a protective invokation (important when dealing with black magick energies).

the second, and brand new, E.P. [GODLESS AND JUST] sent out energetic hatred at RELIGIOUS ABUSERS and MISOGYNY, as well as providing a wordless curse for your own personal use.

coupling his energetic dark spiritual activism with capitalist activism, BOGAN WARLOCK donates all proceeds from his bandcamp releases to charities and activist organisations - for now, it's GETUP.

Ross Manning is a Brisbane-based artist who works with light, sound and movement. His work straddles the divide between art and technology, recontextualising and repurposing utilitarian items, harnessing their previously unmet potential and challenging our expectations.
MIRROR IMAGE deconstructs electronic media to reveal the mechanical aspects of the image-making process, which is re-configured to create a colourful, kinetic and immersive environment.

NO MAN’S LAND
No Man’s Land is a duo of Pippa Bainbridge (voice, prepared guitar, pedals, projections) and Swiss Van Kalken (electric bass, found percussion, pedals). Together they make atmospheric drone, drawing on influences such as Byzantine chant, industrial, found sound and minimalist music movements, to create live performance rituals and audioscapes rich in Australian folklore.

NAIMA FINE FINE with DEBRIS FACILITY, SAGE PBBBT, KATHERINE PHILP & ERICA RASMUSSEN
Composer Naima Fine Fine and experimental practitioner Debris Facility use found, gleaned, purchased and created objects to build sculptural 3D scores onstage - viewed up close by audience and musicians via live projection. Sage Pbbbt (vocals), Katherine Philp (cello), and Erica Rasmussen (percussion) interpret and perform the scores live-time as they're created. New mailorder items:

Arek Gulbenkoglu – “A Gift Like A Hollow Vessel” LP - Following on from 2017’s “Three Days Afterward”, Gulbenkoglu’s new album sees a sharper scalpel at play resulting in a more nuanced release which unfolds a curious journey of suburban psychedelia. Material sourced from voice and body sounds, recording of non-musical processes, actions and events, breath, tapes of animal sounds slowed and sped up, processed field recordings, electronics, percussion, tape delay, sample of old folkways records and Esperanto text to voice translations. “A Gift Like A Hollow Vessel” is striking and intimate musique concrete. A work of confounding beauty as created by one of the most unique voices operating in orbit of psychedelic music as it appears today. Limited edition of 250.

Arek Gulbenkoglu – “Three Days Afterwards” LP - From the almost voyeuristic locations recordings which open the side to the shearing bleeps which close it, we’re spun between intensely purified microtonal oscillations and spare, pointillist percussions according an underlying logic which evades easy categorisation. Impenetrably encrypted electronic abstraction. Limited edition of 300.

Arek Gulbenkoglu “End-music” CD - A series of insular sonic imprints via use of tape detritus, voice and abused electronics. “End-music” continues Gulbenkoglu’s fascination with sound at its most elemental level and comprises three sculptural pieces in which textures are examined from different angles, and threads are pulled bare. This is a transparent and tactile music that accumulates, shifts and contorts. Comes in colour digipak, limited edition of 77.

Club Sound Witches "(alien_pop_muzak)" cassette - Burbling, gurgling aquatic echoes of underwater alien lower case dance parties. Highly irregular.
